Photo Diary: NYFW 2017 Recap

I love New York! Especially with the clatter of high heeled shoes during New York Fashion Week. Even after years of going to these shows with various publications, it never gets old to see what styles will be hitting the streets.

Where I Stayed

Shows used to be held completely at the Lincoln Center, which made choosing a hotel close by relatively easy. But the past couple years I’ve had shows all over the place! So choosing a central part of town was important.

I chose to stay in Midtown at The Time Hotel.

What I Ate

I have a couple favorite restaurants, but my favorite meal this trip was at While We Were Young. The Butternut squash was the perfect blend of sweet and savory with the honey and house-made ricotta. So yum! And the bright marble and trendy pink velvet didn’t hurt the ambiance one bit. They are known for being an Instagrammable hot spot!

What I Did

Saw a TON of shows (see my favorite trends in this post) and launches, like Olivia Palermo’s new collection with Banana Republic. The military jacket she’s wearing is one of her designs. Love the oversized trend. Also, get ready for a surge of khaki for spring!

I was lucky enough to get an invite to the Victoria Beckham x Estee Lauder makeup launch party. I’m very picky about my makeup, but so is Victoria Beckham! The packaging for her makeup collection is out of this world! I especially love the leather cases and gold mesh packaging.

The Party of the Year

The Harper’s Bazaar Icons party was one for the books. 😉 My favorite part was the special private music performance by The Weeknd. He was so good!!! Definitely worked the crowd. I liked how he put the mic out into the audience for the chorus parts. Fun seeing so many entertainers in one room letting loose and having fun.
