The Vanilla Plum Edit
Best Treatment for Sagging Skin
If I were choosing an at-home beauty device for sagging skin, this is how I’d rank RF, microcurrent, facial massage, RF microneedling, LED, and supportive habits.
Sagging skin is where beauty devices can get confusing fast.
The key is separating laxity from puffiness, texture, collagen loss, and facial tension.
My Treatment Ranking
My first pick for firmness, collagen support, and the look of laxity around the jawline, cheeks, and lower face.
Best for facial tone, lift, and helping the face look more awake and supported.
Best when puffiness, lymphatic stagnation, jaw tension, or fluid retention is making the face look heavier.
A stronger collagen-support option, especially if skin texture is also part of the concern.
Supportive for overall skin quality, glow, recovery, and long-term skin health.
Not a lifting treatment, but helpful for reducing sleep creases and supporting the skin overnight.
The Short Answer
For true laxity, I’d start with RF. If the face looks tired, heavy, or less lifted, I’d add microcurrent. If the lower face looks puffy or swollen, I’d work in facial massage and lymphatic drainage before assuming it’s all sagging.
Which Option Fits You Best?
If your skin looks loose or less firm
Start with RF. This is the treatment category I’d prioritize for collagen support and visible firmness.
If your face looks less lifted
Add microcurrent. I think of microcurrent more as tone and lift support than a true skin-tightening treatment.
If your lower face looks heavy or puffy
Try facial massage or lymphatic drainage. Sometimes the face looks “saggy” because it’s holding fluid, tension, or inflammation.
If texture and firmness are both concerns
Consider RF microneedling. I’d place it in the more intensive category rather than the easiest first step.
If you want long-term skin support
LED and red light are supportive rather than dramatic for sagging, but they can fit beautifully into a broader skin-quality routine.
